BARCELONA JOINS THE BATTLE AGAINST COVID-19
Our two hotels in Barcelona, ILUNION Bel Art and ILUNION Barcelona, have joined the fight against COVID-19 by offering up their spaces to the health managers of several hospitals in the city. By turning our hotels into medical facilities, we are contributing to the tireless work of health professionals in the battle against the virus.
Our colleagues at Hotel ILUNION Bel Art, located in the surroundings of La Sagrada Familia, have opened their doors to welcome, for as long as it takes to stop the pandemic, the health workers of the Sant Pau Hospital and the Fundació Puigvert and to ensure that they can rest and travel more easily.
We have also turned the Hotel ILUNION Barcelona , located in the Poblenou district, into a medical facility for patients recovering from coronavirus. These patients are transferred from the Sant Pau Hospital to spend 14 days in isolation. They need to be kept a watchful eye on in order to protect their families, or because they do not have the necessary care at home.
The Hotel ILUNION Barcelona, with the aim of avoiding the collapse of the health resources of the General Hospital of Catalonia, has offered a large number of extra beds. At ILUNION Hotels we have always supported the values of sportsmen and women, carrying out sports activities that value self-improvement and teamwork. This is why our colleagues in Barcelona have lent equipment from the hotel’s gym so that several of these athletes can continue training from the confines of their homes.
We must continue to be aware of the need to stay at home so that the situation can be remedied as soon as possible. Meanwhile, what we can do today is help the people who, with their incredible work, are fighting every day to stop this pandemic, and to help the most vulnerable in their recovery.
