ILUNION Hotels and Action Against Hunger raise over 53,000 euros to fight malnutrition
ILUNION Hotels raises over 53,000 euros with Action Against Hunger to fight malnutrition
February 12, 2026
ILUNION Hotels has renewed its participation in “Restaurantes contra el Hambre” (Restaurants Against Hunger), the campaign promoted by Action Against Hunger between September and November, thus consolidating its commitment to malnutrition prevention and support for people in vulnerable situations.
Additionally, the hotel company has reinforced its own initiative, “Plato Solidario” (Solidarity Dish), with the goal of extending fundraising beyond the campaign period and allowing its customers to collaborate throughout the entire year.
13,796 euros raised in the latest edition
In this edition, the joint fundraising from Restaurants Against Hunger and the Solidarity Dish reached 13,796 euros. With this figure, the total amount accumulated since 2020 rises to 53,407 euros.
Customer involvement has been key. By choosing solidarity dishes at ILUNION Hotels’ restaurants, they have contributed directly to the cause without any increase in the final price.
These dishes are designed based on the following criteria:
- Sustainability
- Inclusion
- Use of local ingredients
Furthermore, they are naturally integrated into the menus, including the children’s menu, turning every service into an opportunity to generate a positive social impact.
Funds dedicated to projects fighting malnutrition in Spain
The entirety of the funds raised will be allocated to projects developed by Action Against Hunger in Spain, focused on:
- Prevention and the fight against malnutrition
- Improving access to adequate nutrition
- Support for individuals and families in vulnerable situations
The official donation handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, February 11, at Torre ILUNION, the group’s corporate headquarters, with representatives from both organizations in attendance. Representing ILUNION Hotels were José Ángel Preciados, CEO; Beatriz Miguel, Managing Director; and Elena Martín Cuesta, Director of Sustainability and Excellence. Representing Action Against Hunger were Manuel Sánchez-Montero, Director General; and Alfonso Calderón, Campaign Coordinator.
Long-term sustainable commitment
“At ILUNION Hotels, we understand that sustainability also means maintaining commitments over time. Initiatives like ‘Restaurants Against Hunger’ and ‘Solidarity Dish’ allow us to involve our customers in a real social cause and demonstrate that, through the hotel experience and gastronomy, it is possible to generate a positive impact continuously,” noted Elena Martín Cuesta.
“Being able to count on the involvement of ILUNION Hotels for another year allows Action Against Hunger to continue offering a deep and long-term transformation in the lives of the beneficiaries of our food security and livelihood programs. The changes we achieve in participating families need that time to become solid and structural,” added Manuel Sánchez-Montero.
ILUNION Hotels and its commitment to social value
This collaboration is part of ILUNION Hotels’ strategy to generate social value and reinforce strategic alliances that promote a more inclusive, just, and sustainable society.
Through initiatives linked to catering, sustainability, and inclusion, the company continues to integrate positive social impact within its hospitality proposition.
