ILUNION Hotels has taken another step forward in its partnership strategy. Canon has become an essential partner for the hotel company, as the multinational seeks to reduce its environmental impact and contribute to the circular economy by focusing on maintaining and extending the use of components and materials across its entire product range. As a result, the two companies have come together on this shared path.

ILUNION Hotels’ properties continue to advance their Sustainability Policy by opting for circular printers, which are manufactured with a reduced need for new raw materials to maximise the use of natural resources. This approach helps reduce the carbon footprint associated with the acquisition of new parts and raw materials, as well as the production and transport of printing devices.

ILUNION Hotels has prevented more than 13,000 kg of CO2 emissions thanks to 17 remanufactured devices.

ILUNION Hotels currently operates 17 remanufactured devices. Thanks to this, 13,533 kg of CO2 and 2,732 kg of plastic have been avoided. Through remanufacturing, CO2 emissions resulting from various aspects of production, assembly and transport processes are significantly reduced.

This initiative helps ILUNION Hotels lead a greener future within the hospitality industry. According to Elena Martín, Director of Sustainability: “Thanks to this alliance with Canon, we at ILUNION Hotels are once again demonstrating the importance of partnering with those who share our purpose and values. Together, we can achieve a better world that includes everyone.

This joint project, part of our circular economy strategy, enables us to reduce our environmental impact—both in terms of our carbon footprint by avoiding CO2 emissions, and by decreasing the generation of hazardous waste, since we are dealing with electronic waste. We must also remember that our environmental commitment and the company’s decarbonisation plan include measuring Scope 3 emissions, which prominently feature those of our suppliers. That’s why our collaboration with them is essential.”
