Our second hotel in Bilbao, ILUNION San Mamés, is officially opened.
The Hotel ILUNION San Mamés is excited to be finally opening its doors to customers. This four-star hotel has 168 rooms, with six rooms designed to be fully accessible for people with reduced mobility. Its 11 floors are home to large meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a breakfast room, an Internet Point and several common areas.
The hotel is equipped with all the latest technology to keep energy consumption efficient and sustainable. It is fitted with LED lighting, motion detectors in common areas, an air conditioning system without refrigerant gases to avoid emissions and sanitary hot water provided by air source heat pumps with a system for recovering residual heat.
The building also has a general monitoring system to warn of any faults occurring in the equipment and enable installations to be monitored and checked telematically. Both the façade and envelope feature high-performance mineral wool thermal insulation.

According to our CEO, José Ángel Preciados, the hotel’s reopening is “great news for our company because it reinforces our position in the Basque Country and because it is the first hotel in the region to be managed as a special employment centre”.
“This new project in Bilbao forms part of our strategic approach. We create quality jobs for people with a disability and equip them with the necessary tools and support for full social and professional inclusion”, said Preciados.
