Sustainability is also a choice when buying: Fair Trade coffee at ILUNION Hotels
Sustainability and purpose in every cup
February 10, 2026
At ILUNION Hotels, we understand sustainability as a way of managing our business on a day-to-day basis. That is why, as part of our responsible sourcing strategy, we pay close attention to everyday decisions that are part of the experience in our establishments, such as the choice of products we serve.
Fair Trade Coffee: our Responsible Sourcing Policy
Within our Responsible Sourcing Policy, which establishes our procurement and product selection criteria, we are committed to coffee with the Fair Trade seal. This certification guarantees high standards of fair trade, promoting sustainable livelihoods, safe working conditions, environmental protection, and transparent supply chains.
A choice that responds to our commitment to integrate social, environmental, and good governance criteria into our processes, aware that every decision has an impact that transcends our hotels.
AMUCC: social impact and empowerment at the source
The Fair Trade coffee we serve at ILUNION Hotels is linked to initiatives such as AMUCC (Association of Women Coffee Farmers of Cauca), an organization made up of indigenous, Afro-Colombian, and mestizo women who produce coffee on small farms in the Colombian department of Cauca as a means of generating sustainable income for their families.
Since its creation in 1999, AMUCC has developed a model based on resilience and collective work, significantly improving the quality of life in its communities, investing in high-quality production processes, and accessing research and technical support programs that drive long-term development.
Environmental commitment in coffee production
In addition to the social impact, these projects associated with Fair Trade coffee incorporate practices aimed at reducing water use and production-related emissions, thereby reinforcing the environmental component within our global sustainability strategy.
Strategic alliances aligned with the SDGs
This approach is part of the framework collaboration agreement signed between ILUNION Hotels and Supracafé, which establishes a space for cooperation aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 17 (Partnerships for the goals).
The agreement lays the foundation for advancing together in areas such as social impact measurement, the definition of indicators, and future awareness and training actions.
At ILUNION Hotels, we continue working to integrate social, environmental, and governance criteria into our purchasing decisions, convinced that sustainability is also built through everyday actions and has an impact far beyond our hotels.
