AWARDED IN THE WORLD TRAVEL MARKET

 
 

Our hotel chain was awarded at the International Travel & Tourism Awards presented by World Travel Market London, one of the most important international travel trade shows alongside ITB Berlin and FITUR in Madrid.

We were finalists in the “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry” category and awarded for our particular way of doing things and our work to give visibility to disability, which makes us a unique chain worldwide in terms of our business model.

Our Managing Director, José Ángel Preciados, was there to pick up the award last night during the International Travel & Tourism Awards 2018 ceremony. He was accompanied by the head of reception at our ILUNION Atrium hotel, Sandra Mena, who was there on behalf of the workers with disabilities at our company.

According to Preciados “it is an honour to receive this important award from the most renowned tourist institution in our country, Hosteltur, and in a setting as important as the World Travel Market”. He added that “this international recognition of our social commitment to people with disabilities attests to our project and to that of the people who form part of it”.

As proposed by Hosteltur, ILUNION Hotels was up against nine other initiatives from several other countries promoted by their most popular tourism media outlet.

Expert panel

During the World Travel Market trade show, our Director of Digital Marketing and Communication at ILUNION Hotels, Sandra Serrano-Piedecasas, had the chance to discuss our chain’s business model. She did so during her speech at the round table alongside professionals from the industry, such as Air Canada, RAKTDA, Inspiretec and MPI, where they gave their views on the challenges facing the industry on both a national and international level.
