The key is to turn the customer into a fan who wants to return at any cost

During FITUR 2025, Hotel Trends organized a roundtable titled: “How Much Is Too Much? Exploring the Limits of Hotel Pricing.” The session featured Beatriz Miguel, Business Director of ILUNION Hotels, alongside key industry figures such as Fernando Vives, Commercial Manager of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas; and Íñigo Onieva, Digital Business Manager of Barceló Hotel Group. The discussion was moderated by Juan Daniel Núñez from Smart Travel News.
During the roundtable, the question was posed: “Is there still room to keep raising prices?” Beatriz Miguel highlighted the quality of the Spanish hotel industry and emphasized the importance of a pricing strategy that aligns with the operational proposal and the customer experience.

Fernando Vives added that there is still room to improve prices in certain markets, “comparing the situation with destinations like Italy, where higher prices are charged for products that are not necessarily better.”
Onieva pointed out that “there are opportunities to improve profitability beyond price, as long as a differential value perceived by the customer is offered. Prices will continue to rise if this added value is delivered.”
The experts agreed that customers are willing to pay more for the services they receive when booking a hotel in Spain, provided quality is maintained and a distinctive value is offered.
