Dreamers: David Levecq
From the podium to purpose: the story of David Levecq
At ILUNION Hotels, we believe that every personal story has the power to inspire. That is why we created Dreamers: a project that invites us to look beyond the uniforms and discover the people who give meaning to who we are.
Today, the protagonist is David Levecq, former Paralympic swimmer and current DEIB Coach (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) at ILUNION Hotels. His story is a life lesson about effort, evolution, and purpose.
David was born with a club foot, but from a young age, he learned that differences do not define, they only challenge. He started swimming as a way to strengthen his leg, without imagining that this discipline would lead him to represent Spain in three Paralympic Games and win two silver medals. “In the water, I found freedom, balance, and a way to get to know myself,” he recalls. After years of training, travel, and competition, he decided that his next challenge would not be on a podium, but with people. He trained in Physiotherapy and Psychology, convinced that true success lies in helping others reach their best version.
A new way to inspire
Today, at ILUNION Hotels, David supports the teams in their personal and professional growth, transmitting the values that marked his career: perseverance, effort, and teamwork. “In life, just like in swimming, sometimes you have to swim against the current, but the important thing is not to stop taking the next stroke,” he states.
His story reminds us that overcoming challenges doesn’t end when the race is over. It continues every day, in every gesture, and in every person willing to take one more step.
The chapter on David Levecq opens the third season of Dreamers: a conclusion full of emotion, truth, and humanity. Because when stories are shared from the heart, they make us all better.
