ILUNION Alcora Sevilla celebrates 35 years of history, inclusion, and renovation
Following the comprehensive renovation of its facilities, the hotel consolidates its position as an accessible, sustainable, and open meeting space for all citizens
June 02, 2026
ILUNION Hotels has held an institutional gathering that brought together public representatives, companies, and local collaborators to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the ILUNION Alcora Sevilla hotel.
The event served to recognize the trajectory of one of the most emblematic establishments in Seville’s Aljarafe region and to officially present its new phase following the deep renovation started in 2021. These improvements reaffirm the company’s commitment to a tourism model that places people and accessibility at the core of the business.
The event was attended by Pedro Calvó Roca, Director General for People with Disabilities of the Regional Government of Andalusia; Mª Luisa Moya, Mayor of San Juan de Aznalfarache; Cristóbal Martínez, Regional Delegate of ONCE Andalusia; and Carmen Arjona, President of the Sevilla Congress & Convention Bureau, as well as representatives from companies, collaborators, and entities linked to the tourist, social, and economic development of Seville.
A hotel in Seville born and raised with social transformation
Inaugurated in 1991, in the midst of the urban and tourist boom surrounding the Seville Universal Exposition, this accommodation quickly consolidated itself as a strategic connection point between the Andalusian capital and its metropolitan area.
Throughout these three decades, the establishment has transcended its traditional function to become a cultural and corporate driving force, serving as the venue for major congresses, conventions, and family celebrations.
Commitment during difficult times
Beyond its commercial activity, the hotel has stood out for its dedication to serving society when it was needed most. During the COVID-19 health crisis, its facilities were transformed into a medicalized hospital to relieve healthcare pressure. Similarly, the center solidarity-opened its doors to offer shelter to more than 100 Ukrainian families displaced by the war.
As highlighted by Ana Labandón, Director of ILUNION Alcora Sevilla: “This hotel holds a special place in the memories of many people: families who have celebrated key moments here, companies that have organized their gatherings, and neighbors who feel it is part of the Aljarafe landscape. Celebrating its 35 years means sharing that close relationship with Seville and San Juan de Aznalfarache.”
The new chapter of ILUNION Alcora Sevilla: hospitality and inclusion
The commemoration of this anniversary marks the starting point of an era aligned with the company’s humanistic model. In this sense, the CEO of ILUNION Hotels, Beatriz Miguel, underscores that “this milestone demonstrates that the hotel sector can be highly competitive while maintaining a firm social and environmental commitment.”
Spaces designed for all people
The guest experience is strengthened through the incorporation of accessibility elements in common areas, rooms, and event spaces. In this way, the hotel not only modernizes its facilities but also transforms its way of connecting with guests and the surrounding environment.
In a city like Seville, where tourism, congresses, and events play a key role in the local economy, ILUNION Alcora Sevilla remains a benchmark space, now from a more open, accessible, and community-committed approach.
As highlighted by the CEO of ILUNION Hotels, José Ángel Preciados: “The 35 years of ILUNION Alcora Sevilla reflect a hotel’s capacity to be an active part of its environment. This is precisely how we at ILUNION Hotels understand tourism: an activity capable of generating economic and social value, but also real opportunities for people.”
