The event also included the screening of the new marketing campaign spot “Where Sleeping is an Awakening.”
Elena Martín Cuesta, Director of Sustainability and Excellence at ILUNION Hotels, took part in the GIRA Jóvenes programme held yesterday at Madrid’s Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium. These sessions, now in their twelfth edition, aim to improve the skills and employability of more than 600 young people aged 16 to 30 who are studying intermediate or advanced vocational training.
The GIRA Jóvenes training and employability programme is structured into several phases in which students receive guidance for their personal and professional development, helping them access the labour market. During the “Inspire” phase — which focuses on encouraging growth in key future areas — Martín had the opportunity to deliver a masterclass on diversity and inclusion.
She also explained what makes ILUNION Hotels a truly unique hotel company. “Diversity and inclusion in education are essential to ensuring everyone has access to quality education and to promoting equal opportunities,” she said.
Her presentation concluded with the screening of the new campaign spot “Where Sleeping is an Awakening”, starring ILUNION Hotels’ own employees. The video prompted the young audience to think critically about the future of tourism and become active participants in the shift towards a more conscious, inclusive and accessible industry.
This initiative is part of the alliance signed between ILUNION Hotels and Coca-Cola in 2022. The agreement seeks not only to promote projects and initiatives that foster sustainability in its three dimensions — environmental, social, and good governance — but also to inspire young people to take action in promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
