ILUNION Hotels and Les Roches launch the First Hotel‑Sector Innovation Barometer

The study will analyze international hotel innovation trends and processes

May 8, 2024

ILUNION Hotels has taken part in creating the first Hotel‑Sector Innovation Barometer, a study conducted in collaboration with Les Roches—one of the world’s most prestigious hotel‑management schools. With the involvement of several hotel companies, the project seeks to inspire stakeholders by highlighting the importance of innovation.

This pioneering study examines hotel‑innovation trends and processes to offer a clear picture of how mature different Spanish hotel companies are in terms of innovation and technology. Designed as a self‑diagnostic and development tool, the barometer focuses on open participation and transparent results. It combines an anonymous innovation survey—with objective metrics applicable to any hotel company—with interviews with industry executives and a hotel‑innovation benchmark.

A digital hand made of lines connects with a technological sphere surrounded by data, with visible percentages: 27% and 54%, set against a dark blue background.
A radar screen with a blue background displays a grid, scattered points, a small world map in the bottom left corner, and numerical data and graphs along the edges.

The results will be shared with participants in an annual publication that will analyze seven innovation variables: strategy, technology, structure and processes, ecosystem, culture, competitive intelligence, and communication. Another useful feature of the barometer is to assess the status of participants against the industry average and identify areas for improvement and best practices.

This study, which aims to serve as a benchmark for the hotel sector and a driver of innovation as a key factor for competitiveness and differentiation, will be conducted periodically to measure the evolution of innovation in the sector and in each of the participating companies.

If you lead technology, innovation, systems, or transformation projects in a hotel company, we invite you to participate in the barometer before May 10th by using this link with your corporate email address.
