The 25 most innovative in the tourism sector
ILUNION Hotels promotes recognition for talent that is transforming tourism
September 23, 2025
In line with its purpose “Where sleeping is an awakening” and its commitment to innovation with impact, ILUNION Hotels is launching a new recognition that seeks to give visibility to the professionals who are shaping the future of the tourism industry.
This is The 25 Most Innovative in the tourism sector, an initiative developed in collaboration with TecnoHotel that will award those individuals who, in the last year, have contributed to transforming the sector through technology, sustainability, accessibility, or leadership.

Focus on people, not on brands
Unlike other awards, this recognition does not center on companies or projects, but on professionals with names and surnames. People who stand out for their creativity, their ability to collaborate, and their commitment to a more human and inclusive tourism.
The application period will be open until October 9, and both third-party nominations and self-nominations can be submitted. The names of the 25 selected individuals will be announced on October 23 during the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) in Seville, at an event where the tourism ecosystem will learn who the leaders are that are making a difference.
An open call for disruptive profiles
Registration will be done through an online form on the initiative’s official page. Each application must include a brief description—up to 300 words—and can be strengthened with additional material, such as success stories, reports, or testimonials.

An independent jury, composed of leaders in tourism innovation, will be in charge of evaluating the candidates. They include:
- Antonio López de Ávila (UN Tourism)
- Silvia Avilés Giraud (Tourism Innovation Summit)
- Pilar Gorriz Ramón (RENFE)
- Beatriz Heras (ITH)
- Albert Pérez Llanos (Hospitalidad Emprendedora)
- Fede Sainz de Robles (Sepiia)
The evaluation criteria will take into account innovative mindset, leadership skills, project execution, the use of technology, connection with the ecosystem, and the positive impact generated.

#InnovACTION: ILUNION Hotels’ roadmap
According to Carlos Bello, ILUNION Hotels’ Director of Innovation, this initiative is another example of the company’s commitment to transforming the sector: “Tourism needs leaders who inspire and empower other professionals. With The 25 Most Innovative, we want to show that our industry has the ability to constantly reinvent itself and move forward with a clear purpose.”
The recognition is part of the #InnovACTION strategy, with which ILUNION Hotels is committed to humanizing innovation and generating a co-creation environment where people are the protagonists.
With this first edition, the hotel company reaffirms its commitment to talent and to those who make the evolution of tourism and hospitality in Spain possible.
