ILUNION Hotels supports “Restaurants Against Hunger” with solidarity dishes
ILUNION Hotels raises €13,760 in the «Restaurants Against Hunger» campaign
February 17, 2025
This campaign was created to support vulnerable individuals through solidarity dishes served in restaurants across Spain. The funds raised will be allocated to help vulnerable communities affected by the flood in Valencia.
ILUNION Hotels, the hotel company that is part of Grupo Social ONCE, has raised €13,760 through the Restaurants Against Hunger campaign. This solidarity initiative, promoted by Action Against Hunger, aims to support people living in vulnerable situations.
Increase in donations
In the most recent edition of Restaurants Against Hunger, ILUNION Hotels raised €13,760. Over the past four years, the total amount donated through this initiative has reached €39,611, further demonstrating ILUNION Hotels’ strong commitment to solidarity. In 2025, both organizations agreed to allocate the funds raised to support vulnerable people affected by the flood in Valencia.
At the donation ceremony, Elena Martín Cuesta, Director of Sustainability and Excellence at ILUNION Hotels, stated: “We know that the best way to transform society is through concrete actions. Through this collaboration with Action Against Hunger, we want to continue contributing to people’s well-being, using the power of gastronomy and tourism to generate a positive impact.”.
For many years, the hotel company has worked on various social projects in partnership with this organization. In January 2024, ILUNION Hotels signed a framework agreement with Action Against Hunger, expanding the scope of their solidarity initiatives to include employment and training programs for people in vulnerable situations.
Guest Solidarity at ILUNION Hotels
The €13,760 raised came from the participation of ILUNION Hotels guests, who supported this initiative by choosing charity dishes at the company’s restaurants — without any increase in the sale price.
Thanks to the strong results of this action, ILUNION Hotels will continue to support the Restaurants Against Hunger campaign, engaging guests and raising social awareness, while strengthening its positive impact on the wider community.
On this topic, Carmen Gayo, Director of Communications and Fundraising at Action Against Hunger, stated: “Strategic partnerships like the one we have with ILUNION Hotels show how joining efforts between companies and social organizations can amplify social impact, aligning goals to build a fairer and more sustainable future where everyone has access to adequate nutrition.”.
The donation handover event was attended by representatives from both organizations. From ILUNION Hotels, Elena Martín Cuesta, Director of Sustainability and Excellence; Victoria Rodríguez, Head of Corporate Hospitality; and Yolanda Horrillo, Head of Partnerships and Institutional Relations, took part. From Action Against Hunger, attendees included Carmen Gayo, Director of Communications and Fundraising; Francisco Javier Fernández-Nava, Head of Partnerships, Campaigns, Events and Sponsorships; Alfonso Calderón, Campaign Coordinator; and Silvia Miguel, Brand and Internal Communications Coordinator.
Through this partnership, ILUNION Hotels contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger. This initiative is part of the hotel company’s deep commitment to sustainability and social inclusion, in line with its unique and pioneering business model based on creating opportunities for people with disabilities and those in vulnerable situations.
