Umániko: ILUNION Hotels’ gastronomic concept, awarded for its social innovation
The project is recognized for its ability to transform culinary excellence into a tool for inclusion
March 30, 2026
ILUNION Hotels‘ commitment to a hospitality model where social value and technical quality go hand in hand has once again received recognition. The Umániko project, the hotel company’s flagship gastronomic concept, has been honored at the prestigious HORECA Awards 2026, establishing itself as a benchmark for innovation in the sector.
What are the HORECA Awards?
These awards were created with the aim of recognizing excellence, innovation, and sustainable and technological transformation in the fields of catering, hospitality, and food services. The jury evaluates projects that demonstrate how hospitality can be a driver of change to solve social and environmental challenges.
In this edition, the recognition of ILUNION Hotels highlights the company’s ability to integrate social sustainability into processes as demanding as high-level catering.
Umániko: more than a restaurant, an engine for opportunities
Umániko was not born just as a local and seasonal gastronomic proposal, but as an inclusion ecosystem. This project stands out for an operational model where a significant part of its professionals are people with disabilities, proving that diversity brings sensitivity and a differential value to the guest experience.
Its success is built on three essential pillars: social and labor inclusion that generates employment with purpose for groups facing greater barriers; service excellence that meets the highest quality standards; and a firm commitment to 360º sustainability, through initiatives aimed at reducing food waste or including low water footprint and “kilometer zero” products in its menu.
One step further in the “Innovation with Purpose” strategy
This award reinforces ILUNION Hotels‘ roadmap, where honors like this serve as a boost to continue demonstrating that profitability and social commitment mutually enhance each other.
As the company highlights, Umániko is proof that, when people are put at the center, innovation stops being just technology and becomes a tool that improves lives.
