Our Purpose, Once Again at Madrid Hotel Week
ILUNION Hotels took part in this year’s edition of Madrid Hotel Week with a sensory experience driven by its purpose: “Building a better world with everyone included.” Juan Antonio García, Director of the Central-North Area, highlighted the importance of ILUNION Hotels participating year after year in the main event of the hotel sector in Madrid:
“We have the opportunity to raise awareness and share our social project. Through our purpose of building a better world with everyone included, we aim to inspire a movement for change, contributing to a more inclusive, sustainable and humane society.”
This blind experience is an initiative that embodies the company’s purpose and is a regular practice ILUNION Hotels carries out with its stakeholders. On this occasion, participants were welcomed by the hotel directors and their teams, who blindfolded them and guided them on a blind tour through the hotel, navigating a series of obstacles they would not normally encounter.
After the tour, participants had to find their place at the table and rely on their remaining senses to eat their meal. During the Blind Lunch, the role of the hotel staff was crucial, as they provided instructions to help diners guess what they were eating.
The event took place simultaneously at ILUNION Alcalá Norte, ILUNION Pío XII, ILUNION Atrium, and ILUNION Suites during lunch on Monday and Tuesday. The goal was to evoke empathy in visitors towards people with visual impairments, helping them to better appreciate and understand the challenges they face in daily life.
