ILUNION Hotels honored at the UNWTO Awards
April 18, 2017
On November 21, the World Committee on Tourism Ethics presented ILUNION Hotels with the Ethics Award from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). This accolade recognizes the hotel chain of the ONCE business group and its Foundation for its work in the field of accessible tourism for all, as well as its commitment to breaking social barriers and making the hospitality industry more inclusive.
According to the UNWTO, “ILUNION Hotels’ pioneering policies and admirable commitment in the area of universal accessibility are embedded in its business model, taking into account not only guests with disabilities or other access needs, but also its employees and suppliers.” The international organization described the hotel chain of ONCE and its Foundation as an “innovative and exemplary model of corporate social responsibility.”
This distinction aims to recognize tourism companies and associations for their commitment and efforts in promoting and implementing the principles of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, which ILUNION Hotels signed in January 2016.
