Talent Day: more than 1,400 people and a different way of understanding hotel employment
ILUNION Hotels consolidates its talent attraction model in Cádiz and Málaga in the first half of 2026
June 29, 2026
Finding a job usually starts with a resume. However, at ILUNION Hotels, the conversation begins before that. This is the idea that gave rise to the Talent Day, a proprietary talent attraction format that allows people to get to know each other before decisions are made.
Far from being a one-off initiative, Talent Day has consolidated itself in recent years as one of the company’s most recognizable initiatives. In the first half of 2026, the format has continued to grow with new editions in Chiclana de la Frontera and, especially, with Talent Day Fuengirola, where more than 1,400 people had the opportunity to get to know the company, participate in job orientation workshops, and maintain direct conversations with professionals from the hotels in each area. Because there are skills and values that are not always reflected on a piece of paper.
Bringing people closer to inclusive employment opportunities
Many talented people face barriers to accessing the job market, some visible and others not. Talent Day was born precisely to reduce that gap between people and opportunities by promoting inclusive employment, in addition to fostering a more equitable model within the hotel sector.
Interviews are conducted directly by department heads and the People team, without intermediaries. Thanks to the previous online registration, the face-to-face time can be dedicated to what the hotel chain considers truly important: listening, asking, and getting to know each person beyond their professional experience.
In an organization like ILUNION Hotels, where a vocation for service, empathy, and the ability to connect with others are part of daily life, knowing who is behind each resume is just as important as their actual career path.
In line with the purpose of ILUNION and Grupo Social ONCE, ILUNION Hotels actively promotes inclusive employment by incorporating people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. This commitment is reflected in the figures: 23% of the people registered in Cádiz and 27% in Fuengirola indicated having some type of disability.
A data point that highlights the strong interest in being part of a project committed to responsible tourism.
A social commitment that connects with each territory
Talent Days are also a demonstration of the active role that ILUNION Hotels plays in the territories where it operates. Each edition is built alongside public administrations, social entities, and organizations specialized in employment, creating networks that strengthen the local social fabric.
In Cádiz, the event included the participation of Fundación ONCE, Inserta Empleo, and entities such as the Agencia Municipal de Colocación de Cádiz, Diaconía, and the Asociación Arrabal AID. In Fuengirola, more than 80 entities from the territory supported the initiative, alongside representatives from the city councils of Fuengirola and Mijas.
“We believe that selection processes should allow us to discover people’s potential beyond what appears on a resume. Talent Day helps us do precisely that—to generate meeting spaces where people can show who they are and what they can contribute,” points out Juan José Cestero, Director of People at ILUNION Hotels.
After the summer, Talent Day will continue its journey through new cities, reinforcing the commitment of ILUNION Hotels to employment and with the same conviction that drove its first edition: that behind every resume there is a story, and that, many times, a single conversation is enough to break down the barriers separating talent from an opportunity.
