Bottle Caps for a New Life

Since 2016, ILUNION Hotels has collaborated with the “Bottle Caps for a New Life ®” project, driven by the SEUR Foundation to support children with severe health conditions through plastic bottle cap recycling.

In 2017, our hotel chain delivered 708,520 bottle caps (almost triple the amount collected in 2016!), helping 14 children access medical or orthopedic treatments not covered by the public healthcare system sooner.

Additionally, our bottle cap recycling avoided the emission of 2,126 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere, the primary gas responsible for climate change. It would take 354 trees an entire year to achieve the same benefit for the planet!

Since the start of the project, 142 children have received assistance thanks to the recycling of more than 4,000 tons of caps—enough to fill 13 Olympic-sized swimming pools! Over one million euros have been raised in total, but there are still 30 children waiting for their turn, and thanks to our caps, their wait can be shorter.
